Fairfield U Clam Jam 2017
Role: Project Manager
the story.
Students at Fairfield University get to enjoy something that most college students do not - when they move off campus, they enjoy a waterfront view of Long Island Sound and a walk barefoot on the sand just steps from their front doors.
Living on the beach in college may lead to the occasional beach gathering (PARTY) and this is where Clam Jam was born. It was created as a senior send off, taking place in the spring each year.
Clam Jam is a storied tradition at Fairfield, having taken place for over 50 years and having played host to artists and bands such as The Grateful Dead, The Chainsmokers, White Panda and others.
This event existed off campus for students, and that is exactly where Red Bull was going to be able to make an impression on them, Giving Wings to this idea and making their senior year truly memorable.
summary.
Led negotiations with Fairfield U administration to strike a mutually beneficial partnership between the school and Red Bull. This was a campus that Red Bull was ‘locked-out’ of due to school-wide F&B contracts and so, in order to bring the World of Red Bull to life for these students, needed to do so, OFF-campus.
I coordinated the onsite execution for Red Bull providing bars, tenting, MXT DJ truck and over 1,000 cans of Red Bull sampled directly to students in their moment of need via Red Bull Wings Team. Red Bull also provided x3 onsite photographers and x1 videographer to capture content for the event.
Clam Jam saw over 2,250 students in attendance and primary school officials, as well as local police & EMT, strengthening relationships between the brand and the university, the local Fairfield community and first responders.
