Red Bull Bracket Reel: Ski Edition ft. UMass Amherst Ski & Snowboard Club
Role: Local Market Manager
the story.
Red Bull Bracket Reel was a digital competition that harnessed the power of social media and creativity. Teams were selected from hundreds across the country to compete against each other in this head-to-head style, video-editing competition, focusing on their ‘Red Bull-esque’ talents, originality and ability to impress.
Each week, teams that made it to the next round submitted a new video-edit that was scored by a panel of judges according to a prompt while teams also worked tirelessly to secure enough fan votes to make it to the next bracket. The winning team was awarded a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a Red Bull Athlete in a mystery location.
summary.
As Local Market Manager, I was directly responsible for recruiting teams from my market and aiding activation where and when possible.
The UMass Amherst Ski & Snowboard Club team was selected to compete in the first ever Red Bull Bracket Reel: Snow, competing as the only East Coast team, and came in 2nd place overall after battling it out with teams from much snowier parts of the country.
I worked directly with this team to help them create market specific content in a nighttime urban environment to complete their final video. I coordinated with our sports marketing team to utilize a Red Bull MXT truck and winch in the city of Boston, as well as providing additional videographers onsite to capture every angle.
